The dogsled teams were the only means of transportation for centuries.
In the 1960s, the snow machines (Skidoos) came to the Arctic and changed that relationship forever.
Peter K has mastered the art of carving these highly detailed sculptures.
In this scene, the lead dog, Chinook, is the star.
As the lead dog, Chinook is a role model for the team.
He motivates the other dogs and guards the "spoils" of the hunt.
Peter K takes on the challenge of carving a multitude of characters, all of which require meticulous detail.
Each dog and the Inuk hunter with his sled are exquisite in their detailed personalities.
Peter has taken the time to elevate and curve the snow packed ground and to angle the sled as it would be in reality.
