ARM'S WIDE OPEN has an upper body (from the waist up) that is much larger than his lower body
And his head and neck are much longer than his arms.
This body habitus gives Arms a cartoonish appeal but I believe this is a very serious carving.
With both arms held up in the air, was he startled by a sudden noise or is he dancing and jumping from foot to foot?
Arms Wide Open is stunning in his mix of colours.
Pastel yellows, dark gray and green: the complex colour and texture is magical.
Ashoona's bears are always intriguing with a story to tell.
