What makes my curator heart beat faster, is the anticipation that Tim's Diving bear is going to take a step forward on his front paw!
I watch and watch, holding my breath because I know it is going to happen . . .
All the great Inuit bear carvers have this ability to carve what I will call "anticipated movement" into their sculptures.
You see it in Nuna Parr's Dancing bears.
Head over Heels is simply STUNNING!
This bear is an Olympic level athlete as he balances all his weight on his front paws!
This posture is miraculous!
And THEN, in addition to this feat of engineering, Tim also carves a piece of art that is incredibly beautiful.
