Masterpiece Sculpture! Museum quality Carving!
Joanie Ragee has raised the bar with Punch
The charisma of this walking Polar Bear lies in the pale pistachio green colour of the stone.
This is a colour I can not recall seeing before in an Inuit carving.
It is pale, clean and fresh.
Punch is a refreshing change from the typical white Polar bear.
But Punch's magnificence also lies in his form!
He is large, beautifully rounded and voluptuous.
His hind end is spectacular in its proportions.
And finally, Ragee has bestowed upon Punch one of the most artistic faces that I have seen on a bear.
Perfect pointed muzzle, prick ears, a slight smile, and small knowing eyes.
His head is turned slightly as if something has caught his attention.
Pistachio's face meets all expectations.
And so he continues his march along the frozen ocean to his family.
We have caught him mid stride. as he rests for a short moment to get his bearings.
The Arctic's largest and fiercest mammal but with a warrior's heart.
Joanie Ragee is one of the top bear carvers whose sculptures are adored by art enthusiasts and those who just love bears.
